Journey with Pele Retreat

Join Nina and Christine on the beautiful and sacred island of Hawai'i as we explore the Aina (land), the Ocean and Madame Pele.
A deeply transformative journey that takes us to a place of getting in touch with the truth in our hearts, teaching us to let go, and to trust our own inner guidance and the guidance we receive from Tutu (grandma) Pele, the energies of the Aina (land) and the Ocean.

Sometimes our experiences bring us to a place of extreme fire, change, and emotional turmoil. The blessings that Pele brings, is she takes this sacred fire and burns away all that is not truth. Then comes the place where we are smoldering in the ashes, a place where truth comes, with deep integration. And finally, new life sprouts up like the Phoenix rising from the ashes as Pele brings clarity and direction. ​

Stay on the East side of Hawai'i in the lush
tropical rainforest jungle.
Dive deep into our morning programs while learning grounding and centering meditations
and healing modalities.
Explore different parts of the island during our
afternoon adventures in nature.
Learn about Hawaiian culture and about
Pelehonuamea. (Pele of the sacred land)
Learn Oli (chanting).
Make a healing and protective TI Leaf Lei.
Experience a sacred Awa (kava kava) ceremony. (Optional)
Enjoy high vibrational fruits and foods grown from local farmers. Enjoy fresh fish caught daily.
Swim in safe ocean tide pools.
Visit a beautiful waterfall.
Shop at a local farmers market.
Explore the Puna coast on the red road.
Hike an ancient Kipuka (an area of land that is surrounded by fresh lava flow) in the rainforest.
Walk through underground lava tubes.
Visit Tutu Pele on a live volcano.
Once we arrive to our retreat Hale, (house) we relax and enjoy our first
meal together. We join together in opening ceremony with
Pule (prayers) to Pele and the Aina.
We then start our opening circle and make our Ti Leaf Lei.
The Ti plant is a very sacred plant for Hawaiian people and it offers
us protection and healing. As we make our lei, our prayer and intentions
for our healing journey go into our lei. We wear our lei during our time together,
then offer our lei to Tutu Pele and the Aina.
We spend the next 3 days in ceremony and program in the morning
and going on journeys in the afternoon.
Our last day, we head off to the airport after closing circle and breakfast.
Journeys include:
Our first journey sees us along the Puna coast's red road through old growth jungle and fresh new lava flows. We will be visiting a hidden beach with ocean tide pools that we reach by hiking through an ironwood forest.
Our second journey is a trip to Rainbow Falls, to experience one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Hawai'i. Then off to the Hilo's Farmers Market to shop for gifts. Followed by a swim on the Hilo coast in a safe ocean tide pool.
Our final journey takes us to Volcanoes National Park. We first take a magical hike through Kipuka Puaulu in an ancient rainforest. We then journey underground as we walk through the Thurston Lava Tubes. Our final destination is Kilauea crater and Halema'uma'u the home of Pele, to make our final offering to her on the edge of the live volcano.
Our meals are lovingly made with fruits and food grown on the Island
by local farms. We have a private chef, who will be preparing our meals.
We will also be learning how to Kokua, (all working together) as a community
all sharing in meal clean up.
Chef Ainslie will take into consideration any food sensitivities.
Meet your Facilitators
Nina Kirby
Nina is an alternative healing practitioner and retreat facilitator. She combines her knowledge of indigenous life ways and her love of nature to create healing journeys with ceremony. These experiences in nature bring one back to a place of connection to themselves and to the Earth and Stars. Nina specializes in many healing modalities that teach others how to heal themselves. Her passion is helping women heal from abuse and trauma.

Christine Love MacLeod
Christine Love-MacLeod serves as a mentor and coach for old souls, empaths, and HSPs on the spiritual path. A natural teacher, Christine has a gift for guiding others through the ancient art of storytelling. She empowers spiritual seekers from around the world to discover who they are & why they’re here, offering visionary insights and practical strategies to integrate these discoveries into their lives.

Ainslie MacLeod
In his day job, Ainslie MacLeod serves as an internationally-acclaimed past-life psychic, author, and spiritual teacher. He works with elevated spirit guides to help people release the fears, blocks, and limiting beliefs that stem from past lives so they can fully embody their purpose for this one. In his capacity as Chef Ainslie for this retreat, he'll be nurturing participants through locally-sourced culinary delights.
